The Linenstewards + State of Fashion

For the Linenstewards, the invitation from State of Fashion provided an additional impulse to collaboratively create a collection of workwear. While weeding the flax fields, the desire emerged to not only work the land at Horsterhof and process the flax, but also to transform the harvest into a collective product. Experiences in the field during sowing, weeding and harvesting guided the development of the clothing concepts.

The winter flax harvest of 2025, together with harvests from previous years, was processed by them through breaking, scutching, hackling, spinning, weaving, braiding and knotting. The short fibers were turned into paper, part of which was subsequently spun and woven again. This process resulted in the collection Vlasgoed | Flaxwear.

Together, they engaged in an intensive creative process to bring this project to life. Knowledge and skills were generously shared, new techniques were learned from and with one another and they supported and encouraged each other throughout the process. The result is Vlasgoed | Flaxwear: a modular workwear collection consisting of an apron, belt, field shoes and a series of detachable pockets for changing applications.
