presentation, the linen project pop-up at NOoF, Eindhoven

The Linen Project made this presentation during Dutch Design Week at New Order of Fashion in collaboration with Anna Wetzel, design researcher with a specialization in (linen) spinning and Henrike Gootjes, regenerative strategist and linen steward. We will show the work of several linen stewards and the linen kavels.

One of the biggest challenges is the spinning of the linenyarn. Wetzel has been studying the spinning process for several years, including the use of the open-source spinning machine HILO. The Linen Stewards process the flax mainly manually; craftsmanship and innovation is abundant in the group. It results in examples of future-proof garments and other uses that can be nurtured for a long time before nourishingly to the earth at the end of their lifecycle.
