October 2024, Matthias from De Horsterhof sowed flax again for The Linen Project. In agriculture, experiments are being conducted with winter flax because growing flax in summer is becoming increasingly challenging due to weather conditions. Last year, the flax for The Linen Project could only be sown in mid-May due to the wet spring, which led to very mixed results. Initially, the winter flax was intended as a green manure crop, but it looks so promising that we’re waiting to see how it develops further.
